The Cullman Chapter of Catholic Schoolhouse will be meeting every Tuesday during the school year at the Family Life Center of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cullman, AL. We will meet from 8:30am-12noon, attend mass if desired, and have an optional lunch/social time following mass.
There will be a mandatory Parent Meeting in August before we start the school year to go over the our plans, expectations and to share information. Twice a year we will have a family picnic for fellowship. Once a quarter we will have a Moms night out and a field trip that aligns with our materials. At the end of each semester our children will put on a “Semester Showcase” to show off some of what they’ve learned, and we encourage everyone to attend and invite friends and family!
Our first Chapter meeting at the FLC will happen on August 13, and you can see the rest of our meeting dates on our Calendar.

Hi! I’m Kristen Rabideau, homeschooling mom of 3. I have used Catholic Schoolhouse at home for the past three years. My Mother-in-law, Kathy, is the owner and creator of Catholic Schoolhouse, and I’m very involved in the Catholic Schoolhouse organization. I write the CSH Blog, make printable Catholic Schoolhouse resources, like the copywork (handwriting sheets of the memory work), present/train at our conferences, represent CSH at IHM Catholic Homeschool Conferences and do a bit of odds and ends for CSH in general.
I have loved the family unity and flexibility that CSH brings to my homeschooling. Even though I have little kids, they get to be part of school just as much as the big kids by listening to read alouds, getting to participate in silly activities and games and just being present to absorb whatever they can. The CSH music for the memory work is my favorite part- and we’ve been known to have some ‘crazy’ dance parties while learning the memory work.
I also have a blog on my own, Drawn2BCreative, where I share coloring pages, crafts and printable activities to help little ones grow in faith in a fun way. I love coffee, cookies, cooking and just being silly with my kids. I’m really looking forward to another year at the Cullman Chapter and pray that it blesses all the families who participate.
Parents in our program each bring a unique perspective- some have small children, some have older children, some have had kids in public school, other in private school, some have had kids do different things each year. But what we all have in common is a desire to raise our children in the faith and use Catholic Schoolhouse as a tool in that goal this year.
Parents of all participating children are expected to take an active role in their children’s education and in assisting in our classrooms so they run smoothly. Even if you are not a designated tutor, a parent helper rotation will be set up to ensure each class has enough adults to run smoothly. As a director it is my goal that all the adults get to use the talents God has blessed them with, to bless our chapter.
All parents are required to complete Youth Protection Training and send their certificate of completion to Kristen at firstname.lastname@example.org. You can attend an in person training or complete the training online at:https://proudtoprotect.com/member/signup/Toe77br5S
