About our Chapter

Our Chapter:

The Cullman Chapter of Catholic Schoolhouse will be meeting every Tuesday during the school year at the Family Life Center of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Cullman, AL.  We will meet from 8:30am-12:15pm, and have an optional lunch/social time.

There will be a mandatory Parent Meeting in August before we start the school year to go over our plans, expectations and to share information. Twice a year we will have a family picnic for fellowship. Once a quarter we will have a Moms night out and a field trip that aligns with our materials.  At the end of each semester our children will put on a “Semester Showcase” to show off some of what they’ve learned, and we encourage everyone to attend and invite friends and family!

Registrations are now being accepted for our Cullman Chapter.  Please click “Registration” in the top menu to register.

Our Director:

Hi! I’m Melissa Damon, homeschooling mom of 2.  I have used Catholic Schoolhouse as a supplement for the past three years. I have 1 son in the Grammar program and my other son is the Dialectic program.

I have loved the family unity and flexibility that CSH brings to my homeschooling.  I’m really looking forward to another year at the Cullman Chapter and pray that it blesses all the families who participate.

Our Parents:

Parents in our program each bring a unique perspective- some have small children, some have older children, some have had kids in public school, other in private school, some have had kids do different things each year.  But what we all have in common is a desire to raise our children in the faith and use Catholic Schoolhouse as a tool in that goal this year.

Parents of all participating children are expected to take an active role in their children’s education and in assisting in our classrooms so they run smoothly. Even if you are not a designated tutor, a parent helper rotation will be set up to ensure each class has enough adults to run smoothly. As a director it is my goal that all the adults get to use the talents God has blessed them with, to bless our chapter.

All parents are required to complete Youth Protection Training and send their certificate of completion to Melissa at cullmanal@catholicschoolhouse.com. You can attend an in person training or complete the training online at:https://proudtoprotect.com/member/signup/Toe77br5S
